My laptop won’t connect to new wireless internet
Our router went bad, so we got a new one today, and my laptop won’t connect to it. I’ve never had any connection problems with any wireless internet until now.
It picks up the new internet signal (shows its in range), but it wont go past the "please wait while windows connects to the network" box when I try to connect. It stays there for a while, and then the box goes away and nothing new happens.
My dad’s laptop connects to it just fine by the way. It also says WP2 next to it in the wireless network list, ive never seen that before on anything, I dont know what it means. Oh, and there is password protection on it. Our old one didnt have any type of security or password. Also, my laptop is only a year old.
Anyone have any ideas on what could be wrong or what I could do?
You will have to install the soft ware for the new router and then get the pass word to connect, it has been set up with security and a pass word. Ask your dad to help you set it up correctly. After you install the soft ware then you go to net work connections and click on new net work connection and enter the requested info. Some soft ware will set up the connection or guide you through the process.
Hope this helps
