Will having two hardwired connections to a linksys router make a third wireless connection slower?

Will having two hardwired connections to a linksys router make a third wireless connection slower? I hardwire my Xbox 360 and my iMac but I use wireless for a laptop. Will that make the laptop slower since it’s wireless?

If they are both being used online, yes!

How do I connect my laptop to internet using wireless connection?

I’ve never used a laptop before and I’m confused. Do I need something like a flashcard to connect to wireless connection? It would only work with the DSL wire connection but not wireless.

you have to use a wireless card. you can use the USB kind from a cell phone company.

sprint offers the Compass™ 597 by Sierra Wireless for free from the site. you have to pay for the monthly fee, but you can get the hardware free. all you do it plug it in, install the software, and get online. your pc will ask if you want to use this as the default connection.

How can you find an wireless internet connection on a windows XP?

The strange thing is, my wireless worked perfectly on my desktop before, but then one day it just stopped.

I searched on help and support, it tells me to go to Network and Connections thing in control panel and to click on the "View available wireless networks" task. Sounds sensible, so I go and look, but when I do there is no such task.

So is there another way I can search for my wireless connection? This is getting pretty weird.

many times this happens after the tuesday windows updates "fixes" your network drivers. first yo u ahve to get into the hardware manager adn make sure the device is working properly and if it’s ‘on’, etc. maybe even re-install the drivers from the manufacturer and make surw windows doesnt’ do ti again. i never use the windows update for audio, video or NIC drivers…

How do I get wireless connection on a Dell Inspiron 1440 laptop after windows 7 upgrade?

I upgraded my Dell Inspiron 1440 laptop from Windows Vista to Windows 7. When I try to connect to my university’s wireless network it will show available connections but will not connect. I can get a wired connection but not a wireless one. Please help.

Mike,

First check your drivers & make sure these are all up to date! Follow these instructions for connecting to the internet using wireless: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/Connect-to-the-Internet.

If you are still experiencing problems, follow these steps: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/Why-can-t-I-connect-to-the-Internet.

How do you set up a wireless connection to a PS3 using Comcast?

I need to know how to put a wireless connection on a PS3 successfully. Step by step, please.

I have Comcast as well, and in order to connect I had to open the ports on my router using some port codes you can obtain from Sony by calling them. This may help if the connection fails (which it did for me).

How do I get a wireless internet connection?

After successfully having restored my laptop (Toshiba Satellite A30) back to factory default, I checked the internet connection but it wasn’t working.

I used to just be able to choose a network to connect to. (Wireless LAN)
But there seems to be no wireless connection thing on the laptop like it was before.
There is something called ‘ConfigFree’ installed, but I’m not sure what this is.

Can anyone help?

You will need to reinstall your wireless drivers after a restore, possibly that’s why you don’t have a wireless connection.

Goto Toshibas site:

http://uk.computers.toshiba-europe.com/cgi-bin/ToshibaCSG/download_drivers_bios.jsp?service=UK&mode=allMachines&action=search&teddProduct=518&selShortMod=358

Then scroll down to the bottom and you’ll find wireless drivers for your Laptop.

There are 2 for Windows XP, so if one doesn’t work then the other one should.

Hope this helps :)

How do you get wireless internet connection on the Dell Inspiron mini netbook?

The network that I’m already signed up with is At&T and they provide internet access for my desktop. However, it is not wireless. Right now, I have no wireless connection if I were to just use my netbook. In addition, what is a router and a modem? Please help!

If you are with at&t they can provide a wireless router and setup as part of the monthly billing

How do i make my wireless connection appear under network connections?

I already made my wireless network but every time i go to network connections its not there i see two connections called "Local Connection" and "1394 Connection" but not my wireless connection :( so why isn’t my wireless connection appearing? Please answer, this is really stressing me out!
I don’t really know what you mean but my wireless router is the netgear wgr614 v7 if that helps

sounds like your wireless card is not installed at all.

Go to the Device Manager, and look under Network Connecitons, and see if your WIreless card is there, OR if there are any devices showing up as "Not INstalled"

If your card was insallted, you would see it there. If it wasn’t "on" you would still see it there, but it would be "Disabled"….

so, make sure you installed it correctly…
